    How to apply

Registering with NorthStarUK to sit exams with us, could not be easier.

    1. Check that we are offering examinations in the subjects that you require.  If a subject is not on our list please get in touch with us, stating clearly; the subject, level and exam code that you are interested in. We will respond to you as quickly as possible and let you know if we can assist you.

    2. Download and complete our Exam Entry Form (2011). You will need a word processor able to open DOC files to do this.

    3. Return the form to NSUK using the following email address: examentry(@)examswithnsuk.org Remember to remove the brackets from the email address first!

That’s it!  We will take care of everything else, including sending you an invoice,  a statement of entry for you to check the student’s details and providing you with all the necessary information about when the exams take place.

Please note that we unable to accept applications from individuals who do not possess an email address.

    Student identification

For students to sit exams with us, CiE expects us to be able to definitely establish a student’s identity. In order to do this we will need to see one of the following -

    Student’s passport
    Student’s citizencard

If the student possesses some other form of nationally recognised photo id, please let us know when the exam entry form is submitted. We will confirm if this is suitable. Click here to find out more about citizencards.

    Access Arrangements

Some students require additional support or assistance in order to ensure that they are able to sit exams without being disadvantaged as a result of learning needs they may have. CiE, like all exam boards, permit these access arrangements when there is sufficient evidence to support and justify them.

    CiE’s handbook for centres states,
“Access arrangements allow candidates with substantial and long-term disabilities access to the examination and the opportunity to demonstrate their attainment.”

If you have a child who may require access arrangements in order to sit his/her exams, please contact us to discuss these matters. It is vital that you contact us as early as possible and that you make note of the earlier registration deadline that is in place for students who may require access arrangements.

In order to qualify for access arrangements, we will need to see medical, psychological or educational documentary evidence from a suitably qualified professional, clearly indicating the level of disability that the student has to cope with.

NorthStarUK’s Educational Director is qualified to undertake assessments, in the areas of reading and writing, that satisfy CiE’s criteria for access arrangements in these areas. There is an additional fee for this assessment. Once again, it is vital that parents contact us as soon as possible and make note of our earlier registration deadlines.
